The Community Players is soliciting applicants for its annual scholarship.

The Community Players scholarship was established over 25 years ago to assist a deserving student in the Blackstone Valley, Attleboro, Seekonk, or East Providence area, who will be pursuing a degree in the performing arts.

The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded on the basis of the applicant's talent and ability in his/her area of the arts, their current academic status, and the financial need of the applicant. The scholarship will be awarded without prejudice as to sex, race, creed, and/or national origin.

All applicants are asked to complete the application form, provide copies of their current high school transcripts, two letters of recommendation and prepare a three (3) minute presentation to the Scholarship Committee.

The completed application, letters of reference, and transcripts must be submitted and
received by Monday, April 14, 2008. Incomplete, inaccurate, or late submissions will not be considered.

Presentations will be scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, May 3, 2008. The committee chairperson will notify you your appointment time.
