Community Players Receive Grant Funds from City of Pawtucket

The Community Players recently received a grant award of $7225 from the City of Pawtucket under their Organizational Support Program for Pawtucket-based Non-profit Arts Organizations grant program. This new initiative, published in late last year was established in recognition of the contribution of local arts organizations to the city’s overall creative economy and visitor industry. Funding from the grant will be used to defray annual operating expenses, freeing up funding for a number of other special projects.

“We’re thrilled to accept this award from the city, and are very pleased that Pawtucket recognizes the Community Players’ longstanding contribution to the local arts scene”, said Dan Kirby, Community Players President (pictured, left).

Mayor James E. Doyle (pictured, right) presented the check to the Community Players in a ceremony held at the Pawtucket Visitors’ Center on March 10, expressing the city’s commitment to the arts and hopes for continued funding availability in the future. Other recipients included the Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre, Mixed Magic Theatre, Stone Soup Coffeehouse and the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative.
